Kite

Definition: A kite is a quadrilateral with two sets of equilateral sides.
Analysis: The piece of bread in this pictures is a quadrilateral that has two sets of equilateral sides, making it a kite.

Concave Polygon

Definition: A Concave Polygon is a polygon with hiding spots, or area's that can't be seen from any corner of the polygon.
Analysis: This piece of pizza has hiding spots, or places that can't be seen from any corner of the pizza, making it a concave polygon.

Scalene Triangle

Definition: A Scalene Triangle is a triangle that has no sides of equal length.
Analysis: This door stop has three sides with no equal lengths, making it a scalene triangle.

Parallelogram

Definition: A Parallelogram is a quadrilateral with 2 sets of parallel sides.
Analysis: The instruction booklet above is a quadrilateral with 2 sets of parallel sides making it a parallelogram.

Prism

Definition: A prism is a three dimensional figure with a polygon for a base and each side being quadrilaterals.
Analysis: This donation box has a polygon base and each side is a quadrilateral, making it a prism.

Trapezoid

Definition: A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with at least one pair of parallel sides.
Analysis: The statue's base is in the shape of a trapezoid, being a quadrilateral with a single pair of parallel sides.

Linear Pair of Angles

Definition: A Linear Pair of Angles are two angles that lay on the same line.
Analysis: The middle window has angles on both the left and right side of it, or in other words a Pair of Linear Angles.

Supplementary Angles

Definition: Supplementary Angles are two angles that add up to measure 180 degrees.
Analysis: The left corner of the window has two angles, one above and one below the metal bar, that add up to measure 90 degrees.

Obtuse Triangle

Definition: An obtuse triangle is a triangle that has one obtuse angle.
Analysis: The red triangle on the button, has one obtuse angle, the top angle.

Acute Triangle

Definition: An Acute triangle is a triangle with all acute angles.
Analysis: The triangle on the eject button has all acute angles making it an acute triangle.

Ray

Definition: A ray is a one dimension figure that has an endpoint and continues on in a given direction. 
Analysis: The Beatles video game box acts as an endpoint for the stucco which goes on endlessly to the right.

Congruent Angles

Definition: Congruent angles are two angles that have the same measurements.
Analysis: The piece of glass to the left of the crystal ball, has two angles on the left and right that are congruent angles.

Convex Polygon

Definition: A Convex Polygon is a polygon from which there are no hiding spots within the shape.
Analysis: The stop sign is a polygon that has no hiding spots that can't be seen from any corner of the sign, or in other words a convex polygon.

Cylinder

Definition: A cylinder is a three dimensional object with a circular base and a circular top.
Analysis: The trash can, not including its lid, has a circular base, and extends upward to its circular top, making it a cylinder.

Pyramid

Definition: A pyramid is a three dimensional shape whose sides are triangles, and converge to make a point.
Analysis: The top of the mailbox has a quadrilateral base, with for triangular sides that converge to make a point.

Rhombus

Definition: A rhombus is a parallelogram with four equilateral sides.
Analysis: The shapes that makes up that design are all parallelogram's with equilateral sides, or rhombus'.

Right Triangle


Definition: A right triangle, is a triangle with a 90 degree angle.
Analysis: The white triangle, in the middle of the picture, is a right triangle with the bottom right corner making a 90 degree angle.

Midpoint of a Segment

Definition: The midpoint of a segment is a point that lies in the middle of a line segment.
Analysis: The hole in this pillar lies exactly in the middle of the horizontal line segment.

Line

Definition: A two dimensional object, that continues endlessly with no endpoints.
Analysis: The road continues endlessly in both directions, with no endpoints.

Line Segment

Definition: A line segment is a part of a line with two endpoints.
Analysis: The line on the curb, has two endpoints, one where the street begins and another when the curb goes upward.

Plane

Definition: A two dimensional group of points that goes on infinitely in all directions.
Analysis: The floor is the plane and it goes on infinitely in all directions.

Angle Bisector

Definition: A ray that intersects an angle at the midpoint making two equal angles.
Analysis: The angle created by the ceiling is bisected by the crease going up making two equal angles.

Right Angle

Definition: A right angle is an angle with a measurement of 90 degrees.
Analysis: Each of the tiles corner's in this picture are 90 degree angles, or right angles.

Rectangle

Definition: A Rectangle is a quadrilateral thats sides are all right angles.
Analysis. The only full tile in this image, is a quadrilateral that has sides that are all right angles, thus a rectangle.

Isosceles Triangle

Definition: An Isosceles Triangle is a triangle that has two side of equal length.
Analysis: The only triangle that is fully visible in the picture, has two sides of equal length, with the bottom line being longer then the other two.

Point

Definition: An undefinable term, that is usually represented by a dot on a line.
Analysis: The leaf represents a point on the line, or stucco between bricks.

Cone

Definition: A cone is a three dimensional shape that rises to a vertex, from a round flat base.
Analysis: The tip of the pencil rises from the cylinder, that is the pencil, to form a cone.

Square

Definition: A square is a parallelogram in which all side lengths are equal.
Analysis: The tile in the middle is a parallelogram that has four sides of equal length.

Complementary Angles


Definition: Complimentary Angles are two angles that add up to a measurement of 180 degrees.
Analysis: The right angles from the two books edges add up to measure 180 degrees.

Sphere

Definition: A sphere is a perfectly round three dimensional object.
Analysis: The tennis ball in this picture is a perfectly round sphere.

Acute Angle

Definition: An acute angle is an angle that is less than 90 degrees.
Analysis: The pole and chain form an angle that measures less than 90 degrees.

Perpendicular Lines

Definition: Congruent Lines are lines that meet or intersect at a 90 degree angle.
Analysis: The bottom line, and the left line intersect at a 90 degree angle.

Obtuse Angle

Definiton: An obtuse angle is an angle that measures more than 90 degrees, but less than  180.
Analysis: Sierra's legs create an angle that measures more than 90 degrees but less than 180.

Collinear Points

Definition: Collinear Points are two points on the same line.
Analysis: The brackets on my two front teeth are both points on the same line, or in other words the wire.

Parallel Lines

Definition: Parallel Lines are two lines that will never intersect.
Analysis: The tip of the flag poles are lines that will never intersect with each other.
